Mind-Body-Spirit
Everything is connected. This is especially true with ourselves. The mind, body, and spirit are directly affected by each other. Our positive and negative thoughts, emotions, and attitudes affect the body, just like sickness can affect our thoughts, emotions and attitudes. It is a cyclical relationship. By nurturing ourselves and those internal relationships, we can keep a balance between the mind, body, and spirit, thus improving our chances for a lifetime of mental and physical health and happiness.
Mind
Food is something universally good for your mind and mood. We use food to celebrate, congratulate, and even grieve. While enjoying what you eat is important, the process of making your food can be just as cathartic as sitting down to a good meal. In this section, we'll focus on preparations that take your mind off of stress and concentrate on the task at hand.
Body
Our body is more than just a collection of living cells. It is home to our very essence, which are the things that make us all unique. When we do not care for our bodies, our mind and spirit also suffer. We can liken it to living in a home filled with dust and piles of clutter. Taking care of our body is the key to better physical and mental health.
Spirit
Feeding our spirit is essential to our everyday happiness. Our spirit (or soul) is one with the body, but also goes beyond the physical experience. It is affected by everything we see, do, and feel. It is also affected by the things we put in our body. Healthy eating, physical exercise, and completing tasks of joy are the foundation of a happy spirit.
